ESPN The Magazine CoverESPN The Magazine has conducted a detailed survey of sports fans across America, and the survey tells a fascinating story of how teams treat their fans and what fans think of their teams. Around 60,000 voters went to ESPN.com to answer questions in seven categories about the 122 teams that comprise the four major sports leagues: NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB.

The team the came out with the #1 overall ranking was the Indianapolis Colts followed by the San Antonio Spurs and the New Orleans Hornets. I currently live in the metro-Cincinnati area, so it was no surprise to me to find the Bengals ranking a lowly 115 on the totem pole out of 122 teams while the Reds found themselves in the middle of the road at 59. I hail from the Pittsburgh area and bleed black and gold; it was nice to see two teams from the ‘Burgh in the top 25… however I was surprised to see that the Penguins claimed the higher ranking coming in at 24 and the Steelers at the 25 spot.

Rounding out the survey, the teams at the bottom of the chart were the Detroit Lions, Toronto Maple Leafs and the New York Knicks. The complete ranking can be found at ESPN The Magazine. So check it out and find out where your team stands!
